Hello, I am Diane L. Miller, NCTM, the Founder of Miller Music Studios. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Blog. Having a Blog will give me an opportunity to present many things to you, from tips and tricks for music learning and piano performing, to how to select a piano or keyboard for your needs, and discussions about voice exercise to develop your vocal range, and many other topics that will be of interest to you. A little bit about myself, I have been teaching for over 50 years, and started my own piano studies when I was 4 years old. I started performing and singing on stage at 4, and began teaching piano lessons at age 14. I love listening to and creating music; piano and voice are my life. I thoroughly enjoy teaching piano lessons, voice lessons, and music theory and composition lessons and am a firm believer in Talent Education. Several of my private students over the years have secured music scholarships up to $80,000.00 and have gone on to enjoy professional music careers. I am an American College of Musicians Piano Guild Hall of Fame Teacher. I am both a Nationally & New York State Permanently Certified Teacher of Music and have Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance & Music Education in Piano & Voice from the Ithaca College School of Music. I received a Diploma from the former Shumiatcher School of Music in Westchester County, NY and have privately studied with several Juilliard professors, Constance Keene of the Manhattan School of Music, been Administrator of Taubman Seminars for Concert Pianists at Juilliard School of Music, and studied at the Royal College of Music in London, England. I teach piano, voice, music theory and composition lessons from my home studio and thanks to technology I teach all over the USA and in fact all over the world. My channel YouTube.com/millermusicstudiostv has almost 12,000 subscribers where I offer some free piano video lessons and performance venues for my students and myself.
I teach all ages from 2 years old on up. I also teach college students who can earn college credits studying with me from my home studio. I hold myself to the highest level of professionalism and genuinely care about each and every one of my students to the degree that I have become a mentor as well as a teacher. I have taught K-12 in Public Schools and Music Conservatories, led and conducted 100 person choirs, led music seminars, etc. which I enjoyed, but my real passion is teaching private one-on-one lessons since I can tailor the curriculum to each student's learning styles, musical needs, and interests.
